They are electronic devices that capture light energy for use and electricity generation. In other words, it absorbs photons of light to release her electronic and generate electricity. The efficiency of these cells is related to orientation and tilt the device to sunlight. 

The application of photovoltaic cells can be stand-alone or networked. The first supply the place where solar energy (household or public lighting) is collected. In the networked application, the energy generated is not consumed in the same production site but is sold to the country where the facility belongs.
